There was rainfall. There were strong winds, too. But that doesn’t mean the results didn’t swing in the punter’s favour.

Weather worries didn’t really come in the way of the consistency of the results. At Bath, the favourites cantered home, but also saw as many as 13 withdrawals in the latter half of the eight-event racecard.

At Goodwood, most races went according to expectations, but the third  one saw the JP Spencer-up Ad Finitum (25/1) steal the show. The rest of the events, despite the vile weather conditions, was hunky dory.

At Bath, Adam Kirby bagged a double through Caturra and First Connection in the respetive events -- the 1,000m Signs Express Maiden Stakes and the 2,000m Signs Express Maiden Stakes (Div-I).

At Goodwood, there were two doubles. One by Oisin Murphy, and the other by S de Souza.

Murphy flew past the finish line on Masekela (British European Breeders Fund EBF Novice Stakes) and on Four Adaay (Back To Goodwood Handicap).

De Souza’s double came with Dulas in the Thank You NHS From The Angus Family Handicap and Lone Eagle in the British Stallion Studs EBF Cocked Hat Stakes.
